The Farm Visits Sedona, Arizona

We joked to each other earlier in the year that we would probably never leave the farm. Between the animals, the plants, the 1800’s buildings, the responsibility seemed like an impossibility- one that we were ok with.

But one of our ethos has always been “listen to the call” and when Sandra Walter of Ascensionpath.com invited us to speak at Crystalline Convergence in Sedona, Arizona, we were compelled to “listen to the call.” With the support of our families, we were able to make this trip a reality.

So, what is it that two stewards of the land speak about at a spiritual conference?

We have mentioned many times about the miraculous circumstances of arriving here at the farm, and during our chat, we shared how our presence here manifested based on a shared intention of stewardship for the land.

Back between 2015-2018, the major conversation of the annual PASA (Pennsylvania association of sustainable agriculture) conference revolved around the precarious situation of farming at large in America. Farmland in the United States was and still is being sold off and developed at an astounding rate. The American small family farm is dying and many retirement age farmers are caught in a difficult decision with their retirement finances being tied to selling the land for the most money possible. Making connections between young and aspiring farmers with retirement age land owners was a large topic of conversation during those years, which is exactly where David connected with the previous owner of the farm.

We are so excited to share this beautiful story of synchronicities that led us here to the farm. We both came from backgrounds outside of farming, but held clear in our hearts that purpose was of great importance in our life. Service to whatever the Highest possible good we could possibly create opened the way for how our paths would intertwine with each other and the other defining characters in the story of The Farm at Catawissa Creek.

As everything in life probably is, the journey has been full of wildness, beauty, challenges, creativity, excitement, and miracles. Co-creating with the Earth is very unique as your “co-workers” are the elements, plants, animals and soil micro-organisms. These energies present and speak in language other than words - which we have shared a bit with you in previous writing. We are in a dance with them as we balance our creative vision with their wild and beautiful presenting expressions.

The full conversation can be watched here on our youtube channel.
